Biography: Alexis Sánchez, known also simply as Alexis, is a Chilean football player who is a forward for the Chile national team as well as for the Ligue 1 club Marseille. Since the beginning of his career he was known as "El Niño Maravilla" (The Wonder Child), and he is regarded by many as the best ever Chilean player.
After a highly successfully football career within Chile, in 2011 he was signed to Barcelona in a transfer deal worth €37.5 million. This was and remains an all-time record for any Chilean football player.
He continued his success with Barcelona, winning six trophies, before being transferred to Arsenal in 2014 where he won two FA Cups and the PFA Fans' Player of the Year. Subsequently in 2018 he was swapped to Manchester United, then signed with Inter Milan one year later.
Most recently Sánchez agreed to terminate his contract with Inter Milan, and has since signed a two-year contract with Marseille in 2022.
