Prince Harry‘s tumultuous relationship with the British press is once again in the spotlight as part of the new documentary, “Tabloids On Trial,” which airs in the U.K. tonight, July 25.
Broadcast on ITV and streaming online on ITVX, the one-hour special features Prince Harry, Hugh Grant, Charlotte Church and other celebrities who were targeted by a nearly two-decade-long phone hacking scandal in the UK. Prince Harry would eventually be awarded £140,600 ($180,000) after he filed a lawsuit against Mirror Group Newspapers for damages.
“Tabloids on Trial” features Harry’s first in-depth television interview since that case was settled in February. Want to watch the documentary special in the U.S.? Here’s what you need to know.

“Tabloids on Trial” is airing live tonight on ITV and ITVX in the UK. There are currently no plans for the documentary and the Prince Harry interview to air in the U.S., so the only way to watch the special is by streaming it live with a VPN.
In addition to talking about the “paranoia” and “fear” that the hacking scandal brought into his life, Harry also reveals that his ongoing fight against the tabloids has been a factor in his fractured relationship with his family (which was detailed in his 2023 memoir, “Spare”). “That’s certainly a central piece to it,” the British Royal explains. “I think everything that’s played out has shown people what the truth of the matter is. For me, the mission continues, but it has… caused, yeah, as you say, part of a rift.”
While tonight’s documentary special offers a rare sit-down interview with Prince Harry, it isn’t the first time he’s been on TV this year. Harry was in Los Angeles earlier this month (with wife Meghan Markle) to accept the Pat Tillman Award for Service at the2024ESPY Awards.
